What:

The mission of Coins for Convents and Monasteries© is to help prevent the closure of Catholic convents and monasteries due to insufficient funds for operating costs, including utilities, property maintenance, repairs, and associated expenses.

Coins for Convents© was created so that no convent or monastery is forced to shut down due to financial insolvency, and no Catholic religious brother or sister is forced to leave the life God has called them to because their religious house has run out of funds. 

Why:

There are many Catholic organizations and charities that help erase student loan debt for those wanting to join religious life. However, there are very few organizations and charities that provide financial assistance to struggling convents and monasteries unable to keep their doors open due to insufficient funds to pay for electricity and building maintenance. Coins for Convents© bridges this gap by allowing struggling Catholic convents and monasteries to apply for grants to pay for these ministry-sustaining necessities.

Mission:

The mission of Coins for Convents© is to mitigate the closure of Catholic convents due to financial struggles.

How:

The funds donated to Coins for Convents© are given to convents and monasteries facing a significant or imminent risk of closure or eviction due to financial insecurity. Monasteries and convents apply for funds based on the urgency of their request and their area of greatest need. All convents and monasteries within the United States and its territories are welcome to apply.
